New studies have been the source of growing concern of the long-term mental health ramifications of the multiple concussions sustained in football. If you or someone you love has experienced brain damage as a result of a sports injury, the New Jersey brain injury lawyers of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. would like to help.
For years, it was known that boxers could develop a chronic neurological condition called dementia pugilistica, caused by repeated blows to the head. Symptoms often include increased aggression, decreased short-term memory, and confusion. New studies are finding that this is increasingly common in football players as well, who also experience multiple glancing blows to the head over their career. Even players who haven’t taken the field since college have developed the condition a decade or more after the fact.
If you’ve experienced long-term mental issues as a result of an athletic accident, contact the New Jersey brain injury lawyers of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. by calling 800-346-5529.
