The mother of a boy who was injured in a snowboarding accident is hoping lawmakers will require helmets to be worn by all skiers and snowboarders in Canada. If you or someone you love has received a brain injury as the result of a skiing accident, the New Jersey brain injury lawyers of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. may be able to help you get the compensation you deserve.
The boy was snowboarding when another board struck his head, cracking his skull and cutting into his brain. While doctors originally thought he needed only stitches, they found that the board had damaged the brain, which necessitated the boy being taken to a larger hospital for four hours of intensive brain surgery. The boy is making a good recovery. His mother hopes to use her experience to help inspire Canadian lawmakers to require snowboarders and skiers to wear helmets on the slopes.
