New Jersey turnpike accident kills 2

Posted on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 5:52 pm

Two people have died after the car they were riding in crashed into a construction vehicle on the New Jersey turnpike.

The car accident took place around 4:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. The 31-year-old driver, from Pleasantville, was traveling north on the turnpike when he drifted into the left lane, striking the back of a construction car. The construction vehicle was parked there in order to protect the workers on the highway.

The driver as well as the passenger, who was located directly behind him in the car, died as a result of the accident. Two other passengers were in the car, and they both sustained injuries in the crash. An investigation into the accident is still underway.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends.
